Tariff Updates for Health Care Professionals

Tariff Resources

This is updated as of April 17, 2025.

Henry Schein is committed to keeping you informed and supported as new tariff policies unfold. This site is designed to deliver updates about the company's ongoing business activity and to provide our valuable customers with the latest information.

Tariff Update Overview

  • As you are aware, on April 2, 2025, an Executive Order was issued imposing 10% baseline tariffs on imports from all countries. This order took effect on April 5, 2025, and is still in place.
  • Additionally, the Administration imposed reciprocal tariffs, which were higher than 10% on many countries.
  • As of April 9, 2025, those reciprocal tariffs were paused on all countries for 90 days, except for China, where the Administration announced additional elevated tariffs.

Our Response

  • Henry Schein will utilize our scale and global network of relationships to minimize price adjustments, where possible, and identify alternative options, including our investments in owned brand products for consumables and small equipment that are generally available at lower prices.
  • We are committed to being a good partner to our customers as well as to our suppliers, however, given the potential scope of the Executive Order, we are continuing to evaluate the impact of the tariffs and will inform you of any necessary related adjustments.

Business Impact

  • The supply chain for health care products, devices and equipment is globally interconnected and, in some instances, has limited non-tariffed sourcing options.
  • As a result of the Executive Order, pricing for certain products, devices and equipment that are subject to tariffs will be adjusted.

Recommended Actions

  • We will, in parallel, continue to strive to support strong advocacy of the serious financial and public health impacts of adjusted costs for health care products, devices, and equipment, both directly to legislators and through our professional industry trade associations.
  • If you are inclined to help us address these unavoidable and unpredictable price concerns, we encourage you to communicate directly with your local, state, and federal representatives as well as with your professional associations.

We thank you for the privilege of serving you and being a trusted partner to rely on.
