The Henry Schein Cares Foundation (HSCF) Prevention Is Power campaign is a new, multi-year public health awareness campaign aimed at supporting patient adoption of a preventive, integrated health care model to improve overall health outcomes.
The Prevention is Power Campaign:
Through educational tools on preventive care for clinicians and patients, we are leveraging shared networks to increase visibility and maximize outreach across the U.S. to drive patient traffic toward routine preventive care, advance utilization of an integrated model of care, and ultimately have a greater impact on reducing chronic conditions and improving overall health outcomes. The Prevention is Power campaign is a partnership with trusted organizations including the American Dental Association (ADA), American Medical Association (AMA), the National Medical Association (NMA), The Arnold P. Gold Foundation, and CareQuest Institute for Oral Health.
A component of the overall campaign, the Prevention is Power Health Care Screening Program, a partnership with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) provides cash grants, in-kind product donations, and patient education materials to select community health centers throughout the U.S. to drive increased utilization of preventive health care, maintenance, and early detection among existing patients. HSCF has partnered with CUNY Graduate School of Public Health which, with a team of graduate students, will collect data to evaluate the impact and efficacy of the program. These insights will enable us to create a replicable model to promote preventive integrated health care.
Together with trusted partners we will develop and disseminate effective educational tools and materials for clinicians to utilize with their patients to support adoption of routine preventive care and identify and support innovative models to promote patient engagement with wellness visits and screening services. In a second phase of the campaign, we plan to develop pilot programs in select geographies in partnership with providers to bring new patients to regular primary care and oral care. Ultimately, by working together, we will improve overall health outcomes for individuals, communities, and society.
