Since 2023, one of Henry Schein’s employee resource groups, the Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) China Chapter, has been partnering with Henry Schein, Nangqian County Primary School, and their local NGO Shanghai United Foundation to provide education, improve dental hygiene, and the overall health of semi-nomadic families living in a remote mountain zone near Tibet. Semi-nomadic families have challenging living conditions which impacts their access to health care and health education. Thanks to the leadership of the WLN China Chapter, over 100 Team Schein Members volunteered their time to close the access-to-care gap for this community. To help promote better health and health education, Team Schein Members packed 230 hygiene kits and donated 400 feminine hygiene kits. Team Schein Members Baoyi Lin and Minona Tu also visited the school in the Jiqu Township. This led to 926 students being educated about basic dental and overall health hygiene by 24 full-time and 27 part-time teachers, helping to make a significant difference in the lives of these children and their families.
