DESS® products are conceived based on the Pure Switch philosophy, which means they can seamlessly be used to replace the OEM's. The interchangeability ingrained in this concept gives the professional a great deal of flexibility, as they can use both the original product and the DESS® product without losing any of its features.
The Pure Switch responds to the need to create a prosthetic solution that can fully replace the original without compromising the quality or strength of the product. All DESS® abutments are tested to guarantee their correct functioning.
Following this idea, the backbone of the Pure Switch concept is the DESS® screw, as it is identical to the original and perfectly interchangeable. Below you can see a perfect comparison between two screws.
The geometry of our screws is the same as the original ones. This includes the footprint for the original screwdriver tip, seat angle, diameter, length, metric, above others.
The material used to produce DESS screws is Titanium grade 5 obtained through cold work, which gives them greater resistance to masticatory loads. Also, some of them have different surface finishes, like TIN or DLC, to avoid loosening. All DESS® screws are tested to verify their proper performance. The resistance test applied to the screws is a 50% above their real use torque.
*Replacement of all DESS® parts and if the implant manufacturer will not honor their warranty because DESS® component have been used. DESS® will reimburse you the component cost of the failed implant.

DESS® Pre-milled Blanks allow the production of one-piece abutments with in-house milling equipment while maintaining DESS® high quality precision in the important connection geometry. The system includes blanks in either Titanium or CrCo for most implant platforms with a proprietary holder system for Imes-Icore®, VHF®, Yenadent® and other milling machines with standard 98mm holders.
The Pre-milled Blanks are made from Titanium Grade 5 ELI and the exclusive Micro Melt Cobalt-Chrome. This CrCo alloy has several advantages like no internal tension preserving the designed shape and makes less risk for ceramic cracks while also being easier to mill and preserving milling tools.
The holder provides a quick "screw-on" feature where the blanks are attached to the sub-holder outside the machine and placed in the main holder that remains in the machine. The individual blanks are attached to the holder using a "pull down and lock" system that is time-saving and will assure maximum precision and stability during the milling process.
The Intraoral Scan Abutments from DESS are spray free due to the sandblasting treatment (SelectGrip® technology) done during the manufacturing process, which allows for a perfect finish and better radiopacity. Their surface is enhanced with ZrN coating that improves resistance and durability. The radiopaque Zirconia material that can be tightened by hand or with a special tool (included with the intraoral scan abutment).
Eliminating the screw hole from the scan abutment design also eliminates the need to use a screwdriver, eliminates any scan distortion and the captive screw facilitates easy and safe manual positioning, cleaning, and autoclaving.
The Desktop Scan Abutments from DESS are manufactured in a durable and radiopaque PEEK material and features the SelectGrip® technology, an enhanced retention surface treatment that improves overall retention up to 500%. The scan abutments higher position orientation shape provides technician with maximum visibility. Eliminating the screw hole from the scan abutment design also eliminates the need to use a screwdriver, eliminates any scan distortion and the captive screw facilitates easy and safe manual positioning, cleaning, and autoclaving.

DESS® screws are manufactured using the Pure Switch concept that matches the exact geometry, material, driver and torque values of the branded implant system ensuring a perfect fit. The screws are designed to ensure the perfect fit with both the standard accessories as well as with special CAD/CAM systems for structures, bridges and custom abutments. Also available are longer, different sockets, heads with flat contact face, all these versions aim to improve the structures passivity and fitting.
Some DESS® screws are also available in DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coated version. In this version the screw is coated with a hard carbon layer to provide a low friction surface, improving the preload of the screw and producing a high clamping force between the abutment and the Implant.
DESS patented screwdrivers combine the best of the parallel & the conical screwdrivers. All DESS screwdrivers are manufactured in Stainless Hardened Steel for increased durability and wear resistance.
DESS® Screwdrivers:
This biocompatible and cost-effective solution for short-term and long-term temporary crowns and bridges contains horizontal grooves designed to save time and increases retention of restorative materials.
DESS TiBases are manufactured using SelectGrip® technology a patented surface lasered treatment that ensures greater adhesion of the structure with the cement. DESS® Ti Base are indicated for use with milled zirconia or final casted metal crowns in metal or zirconia and available in both engaging and nonengaging versions for single and multiple restorations. Dimensions and design ensure a stable union, reinforcing the structure of zirconia in the areas of greatest stress, softening edges and ensuring the service life of the prosthesis.
Models are available in three different gingival heights for most of the implant connections in diameters NP, RP and WP for both, single tooth prosthesis (engaging) and multiple teeth prosthesis, dental bridges and hybrids (non-engaging).
Two different heights are also available for the Multi-Unit® connection:
DESS transfers are designed with a flat face to avoid rotation and design provides better retention inside the silicone to keep the correct position. These transfers can be splinted together, enabling the user to achieve a more precise position of the implant once the tray is removed from the mouth. The optimized shape allows the use for both open and closed trays.
The CrCo (Cobalt-Chrome) interface combined with a castable sleeve is compatible with many casting alloys on the market. The burnout sleeve enables technicians to work directly on the Cobalt-Chrome, that porcelain can be applied to and fired while retaining the quality of the implant connection.
By having engaging and non-engaging versions, both single and multiple unit structures can be made. All can be welded to the CrCo base if they are made also in CrCo.
Castable abutments are an affordable option for single crowns and bridges. Made of a totally castable material for the stable retention of modelling materials, resins or waxes by means of vertical grooves and two flat surfaces that prevents rotating movements during production of the structure or during clinical use. The grooves also allow for the vertical embedding of wax or plastic material, withstanding compressive and traction stress during the production or during clinical use.
The footing area precisely delimits structure preparation. A perfect joint with normal plastic materials. Made of sanitary polyoxymethylene, the same material used to make permanent clinical components, it is totally castable and allows for high-quality machining to ensure suitable shapes and sizes. Designed in diverse diameters, for different implant connections, internal or external and over abutments. Available for single tooth prosthesis (engaging connection) and for multiple teeth prosthesis and dental bridges (non-engaging connections).
The perfect solution where you need to angle the screw channel. Thanks to the uniquely shaped profile an angled screw insertion of up to 25° with full torque can be achieved. The AURUMBase® is made of Titanium Grade 5 ELI and is gold-anodized improving the esthetic demands. SelectGrip® technology is applied to the retention surfaces and the design is incorporated to the official DESS® CAD libraries from 3Shape®, Exocad®, and Dental Wings®.
There are clinical situations where the long-axis of the implant results in an unfavorable location of the screw access hole. To solve this and maintain the screw retrievability the AURUMBase® allow you to move the access hole to a more favorable location by angling the screw channel up to 25° in any direction. This is achieved using a uniquely designed screw and driver that also makes it possible to reach full recommended torque even at maximum angulation. The same screw connection and driver is used for all DESS® platforms which limits the number of components and tools.
